1. Do Not Be Afraid Of Failures
Failures lurk around us every time we doubt ourselves, or when anxiety creeps in. One would say, how is it possible to remain calm and positive when you know failure is coming in different directions. I liken what Henry Ford, an American industrialist, the founder of the Ford Motor Company, and the sponsor of the development of the assembly line technique of mass production said ” Failure is simply the opportunity to begin again, this time more intelligently”
2. Believe In Your Capacity To Succeed
Succeeding is about believing, it is about having the faith. Faith is believing before you see it, faith is obeying before you understand it, faith is thanking before you receive it. It sounds counterintuitive, however, it is about the personal, innate capacity of self belief, positive self talk that garners the motivation and direction to succeed. From the Founder of the “Happiest Place on Earth. Walt Disney said this ” if you can dream it, you can do it” Many of us have heard the story of Walt Disney, Disney developed an early interest in drawing. He took art classes as a boy and got a job as a commercial illustrator at the age of 18. Disney was a shy, self-deprecating and insecure man in private, but adopted a warm and outgoing public persona. He had high standards and high expectations of those with whom he worked. As we can see, inherently, Disney was not the kind of guy in his private space that led him to his success in the animation and public world. I believe he struggled continuously and had so many doubts about his ability, but he continued to believe in his capacity to succeed. Till today, Disney’s legacy continues and is still poised as the “Happiest Place On Earth”
3. Be Brave Enough To Follow Your Intuition
How many of us make final decisions based on our hunch or institution? I am one of them. Often the decisions made must have a peaceful resolution in my heart and mind and I will stick at it throughout. This illustration is very apt in the technological world. Steve Jobs, the man behind Apple Inc, giving us the iPhone, iPod, iMac and the new wave of the Apple brand. Steve said this ” Your time is limited, don’t waste it living someone else’s life, don’t be trapped by dogma, which is living the results of other people’s thinking. Don’t let the noise of others’ opinion drown your inner voice, and most importantly, have the courage to follow your heart and intuition. They somehow already know what you truly want to become, everything else is secondary.
4. Have A Lasting Vision Of Succeeding
What is a vision? A vision is the ability to think about or plan the future with imagination or wisdom. Succeeding with vision is key to ensuring the affirmation of your energy, effort towards those goals. We all know the contribution of what Colonel Sanders did, he is best known for founding the fast food chicken restaurant chain Kentucky Fried Chicken and later acting as the company’s brand ambassador and symbol. “I made a resolve then that I was going to amount to something if I could. And no hours, no amount of labour nor amount of money would deter me from giving the best that there was in me. And I have done that ever since, and I win by it, I know”
5. Do Not Let Discouragement From Stopping You
Abraham Lincoln was an American politician and lawyer who served as the 16th President of the United States, in one of his speeches, the then President of the United States said this “let no feeling of discouragement prey on you, and in the end you are sure to succeed” The success of his life shows in his ability to make wise choices for the betterment of his people. He issued the Emancipation Proclamation which began the process of freedom for America’s slaves. The document also allowed black soldiers to fight for the Union. 5. Abraham Lincoln was a strong supporter of the Thirteenth Amendment that formally ended slavery in the United States. With this approach on his ministerial position, Abraham Lincoln did not let any discouragement affect how he managed the office and the nation. He is one individual that left a legacy in this reformation of modern day United States.
These are just some of the success factors portrayed by leaders of this world in their respective roles/ positions of influence of society. I believe everyone of us has their own unique approach to succeeding in life, do share some of them here!
