Polar created an android wear technology which not only helps their customers optimize their training, but also help them in their everyday tasks. I was thrilled to unbox the M600 and I was pleasantly surprised on how the instructions were simple and how the watch was nicely placed snugged into the box.
The first thing i did was to turn on the watch followed by downloading the POLAR FLOW app that would function with it. Initially, I was a little puzzled that it was Android wear enabled, for a moment I thought I could not sync the app to my Iphone as I thought only iOS enabled watches are compatible, well I learn something new everyday.
I like how the watch faces can be selected and changed instantaneously either by selecting on the app or just by holding the watch screen, you can select with face you would prefer. The watch is also easy to use with mainly 2 buttons. A left button (back) and a center button (select) This simple interface makes it easy to interact around the watch functions.
Receiving notifications on the go is also a function that I am excited about as I can read updates on the watch and catch up with my text, messages, emails at a later time but still being able to be kept up to date on any notifications. Using this in everyday situations is a plus point. As a multifunctional watch, activity tracking on the M600 includes steps, distance, active time, burnt calories and automatic sleep tracking. On the watch itself, all that info is presented in brief under the My Day part of Flow (just for that current day) but inside the smartphone app, it’s much more detailed. One of the best parts of My Day is you can see what activity you need to perform to make your daily goal; whether that be running, walking or just standing up.
Polar M600 FEATURES INCLUDE:

Polar is the Pioneer of wearable sports and fitness technology and leader in heart rate monitoring, activity trackers and training computers. With nearly 40 years of experience and a proud heritage in innovative physiological and sports medical research, catering to all levels of fitness by offering a comprehensive product range including cycling computers, wearable sports devices and activity trackers, training apps and online services.
What I like about the Polar M-600 is the quick sync with all the important information from my phone such as email updates, whatsapp messages, scheduled meetings on Google calendar. I can even set reminders, alarms by voice recognition. This improves the seamless flow of using my watch without having to check my phone. The function that I really like in the sports mode, will be the very very accurate heart rate monitor. Of all the watches that I have worn with regards to heart rate monitoring, Polar seems to get the most accurate results, with their high quality optical HR sensors. Keeping track of my training intensity helps me understand how my body reacts to workouts. The silicone strap is reassuringly tough, while at the same time flexible and lightweight enough for it to be able to be worn for long runs and workout sessions.

Using the Polar FLOW app on andriod and IOS
The Polar FLOW app allow coaches and trainers to access your Flow data via Flow for Coach, so they can make training suggestions and help ensure you’re meeting fitness goals. The app also pushes notification of inactivity to the watch and spurs you to continue working out. The API also allows you to connect with 3rd party apps like MyFitness Pal, Apple Health. The functions get feedback throughout the day and ideas for how to meet your activity goal. One is able to analyze your heart rate response and the amount of time spent in your heart rate zones. You can also see your training benefits for each session.
Polar combines it’s 30+ years of sports science into Android Wear technology to create a product that is capable of not only helping the customer optimize training, but also helps one in their everyday tasks. I have been also tracking the amount of steps that I take and mainly reading news, text on the go. However, the only issue regarding a watch using bluetooth is that you have to always have the bluetooth function turned on with your phone and it drains the phone battery pretty fast. Without a sync, you cannot receive any notifications. That’s the major downside for most BLE enabled watches. Hope to find one that has a data card on its own. That would be a game changer.
